Embroidery is one of my mom’s hobbies and she’s super talented in it, as you can see. She used to do it a lot. It was part of my childhood memory, watching her sitting down quietly, doing her embroidery. She always prefers floral motifs, as she can play around a lot with colours and various stitches. She just doesn’t like drawing / transferring the pattern onto the material. So that was the only role I played part in, using at that time, carbonised paper.
Now she’s here with me for a three week visit, so I have got a chance to see her doing it again. It’s a bliss to see her sitting on my sofa, magically filling the flower one by one with colourful thread. And the time stand still.
