One of many good things about moving country all the time is, you make friends wherever you are, up to the point where you have friends in all corners of the world. Yes, it’s always sad to leave them after one or two years, but in this globalisation age, communicating with them is only a click away.
Oh, and don’t forget about all those farewell gifts you receive every time ;-).
These are my latest farewell gift from a good friend, back in July. We just had a dinner party at home last night, so, decorated with yellow chrysant, I used them as low centrepieces for the long table. Without flowers, they actually look like this :
It’s a set of pottery by Gary Wang from 2009, titled Chinese Kung-Fu the 2nd Six Forms. They look rather abstract, but they actually represent, from left to right : spinning, ambushing, kicking, meditating, turning and pouncing.
