Before leaving South Mission Beach 3 days ago, we took an early morning walk at Licuala State Forest Walking Tracks, in a mission to spot a cassowary or two. While the kids finally spot 2 cassowaries in total, I couldn’t spot a single one.
However, I found this unusual looking spider. At the beginning I thought it was the spider’s prey, until I realized, it has 8 legs and it was busy building its web! So, are any of you able to help me to identify this particular spider? Or is it my eyes playing trick on me, and it WAS actually a spider’s prey?
