I spotted this dingo while walking around Lake McKenzie, Fraser Island. To be perfectly honest, never seen a dingo in my life before, I was expecting a wilder, more fierce, meaner looking wolf-like creature. So I was quite surprised when I saw this street dog-like animal. Seriously, had I seen him somewhere in a city, I would think he’s just a normal dog, or street dog.

Seeing this wild dog wondering alone, it’s hard to believe that his closest relative is grey wolf (canis lupus) and he’s the biggest predator in Australia. But yes, with all the warnings and having heard records of dingo attacks within the island before, I did keep my distance and did not provoke him in any way.
