This morning I had a chance to see blooming flowers of ‘queen of the night’. Known in Indonesian language as ‘bunga wijayakusuma’, this flower only blooms at nighttime and withers within hours in the morning. So you really have to wait and watch if you want to see them in full bloom and smell the beautiful fragrance. And most of these plants only bloom once a year!
The myth has it that if your wijayakusuma flowers are blooming, it means your good luck is just around the corner. In that case, I would really hope that they bloom much more often than once a year!
