My kids currently love stones, so last week I took them for a visit to the stone market here in Jakarta. They were so excited, preparing their wallets with their savings inside. I had to warn them not to bring all and to put a maximum cap on what they are willing to spend.
We arrived early, thus some shops were still closed. But as we descended to the basement, it turned out that life has started there. The place was packed, full of people and unfortunately also full of their cigarettes’ smoke.
We had a look around the floor, observing the activities, and of course the beautiful stones available there. The kids ended up buying a “jade” necklace and a turquoise necklace. Let’s see for how long are they going to wear them.
