On this last Sunday of 2014, we had our weekly ritual of horseback riding. I love this particular shot, as it comes out so clear, yet the action still could be seen from the dust / sand flying around, left by the horses legs.
My little one insisted on wearing his GoPro Camera (on his helmet), a gift from his grandparents from his last birthday 3 weeks ago.

My camera was right in my hand when a train passed by on my right. I quickly aimed and pressed the shutter, only to realise afterwards that the camera setting was still in manual from previous shoots. So this picture is wayyy far from perfect, but I quite like it.

Without realising it, today comes the 24th of December, the last day of Advent Calendar. I love watching the kids’ faces every morning when they open their day’s calendar. Their faces are like open book, in which I can directly see whether they like, dislike or simply indifferent towards the day’s gift.
I have to keep reminding them about being grateful, thankful and appreciative towards gifts, no matter how small it is, whether they like it or not. They need to understand that the time and effort taken by the giver is the most valuable, as they will never ever get that time back in their life.
Tonight we will celebrate Christmas Eve with the whole family. There will be more gifts, so they better remember :-).

This is an annual tradition in my kids’ school. Wacky basketball is always held on the last day of school day in December. A super entertaining game, whereby the teachers are dress up wackily and play a game against grade 5 students. Female teachers against female students and male against male.
The kids always look forward to see how the teachers dress up each year. This year they got a pleasant surprise when the principal and vice principal entered the hall dressed up as, as you can see, Transformers.
It’s not a practical outfit for a basketball game :-D, but it definitely entertaining to watch them. And that’s the whole purpose.

We organised our little one’s birthday party as a full outdoor event. It was more like a team building exercise, incorporating horse and water elements. The party started with soccer game, while waiting for the late comers, followed by foot tag, with balloon attached on 1 leg of each participants.
The 3rd game was pony riding while carrying a tray full of glasses of water. Each team needs to assign their riders, water fillers and bucket filler at the other end. Still on the pony, the following game was egg on spoon race. The kids had a blast :-).
