Only when I got closer and paid real attention to this plant, that I noticed how beautifully laid out the leaves are. Each individual leaf sit nicely and naturally, shaping a pattern as if it has been arranged.

She turned 70 on 18th of February. The woman who gave birth and raised me and her other 3 kids. This weekend we throw a big party for her, an occasion for her to catch up with her friends, from school days up to now. A day for the whole big family to gather and share the joy.
Hundreds of pictures were taken, but not by me. This shot is mine, which I took during her make up session (which was done by my sister). Not the best one, but it shows how happy she is, even before the party starts, thus I love it 🙂
Happy birthday, Mom 🙂

The view of the first picture can unfortunately be found on beaches in various parts of the world. Beach littered with plastic bottles, packaging and other kinds of plastic waste.
When we are staying in 5-star resort we hardly notice the ‘insignificant’ staff who work hard to clean up the beach very early in the morning. We only know that the beach is clean and orderly, ready to be enjoyed after our breakfast. Maybe we should notice more these behind-the-scene staff.
In a mission to reduce the plastic waste, particularly plastic bottles, resorts and hotel in general can or should use a hygienic glass bottle, which is can be replenished daily.

On this day, which is well-known all over the world as Valentine’s day, AquaDragons, the swimming team to which my kids belong, organised a charity event, whereby the kids have to look for sponsors, who will be committed to donate money for every meter they swim. The money raised will be forwarded to Habitat for Humanity, which is currently aiming to build 2 more houses in the area they have been supporting.
Swimming non-stop for an hour, my eldest one managed to cover 2050 meter and raised more than 3 million rupiah. My youngest son, the better swimmer, swam 2750 meter and raised more than 4 million rupiah.
I am proud of them for being happily committed to this cause. I personally think of it as a great way to celebrate the day of love, by going deeper than just flowers and chocolates.
