inLast month, I got this “job” of photographing a friend, who is a highly experienced horseman, a saddle maker and a martial arts expert among other things he’s good at. He’s planning to make a website for his art and needed me to take some shots.
I right away said yes to this rare opportunity. How else would I be able to have a glimpse of this beautiful art. So in the next few days, I will share some of my shots in this blog.
All are shot with Canon 50D, Canon EF 50mm f1.8 II

My mom made this tablecloth a very very very long time ago. I admire her quality of work. The precision of each stitch, combined with colour combination, fulfil the intricacy of the whole design.
If you would like to see more of her creations, please click here.

inThe original idea came from Indonesian Loro Blonyo (I have posted here about the story), but I drew them using mostly geometrical shapes. The drawings which I did about 10 years ago resulted in about a dozen of couples, inspired by traditional outfits from around the world.
My mother, whom I might say a hobbyist-turned-to-expert embroiderer, meticulously embroidered each of them, which in turn designed into tote bags. You can find the whole collections in my other website Widja Broderie.

inFrom the same person whose saddle I previously posted here, this one is his latest creation, another beauty.

inI was extremely surprised when the restaurant staff brought in this beautiful cake into the private room where I had my birthday lunch today. The logo in the centre of the cake is a precise copy of Widja Broderie logo.
I can’t stop looking at the intricate decoration of the model of clutch standing in the corner, as it is one of the December issue of my clutch line.
I thank ‘you know who’ for arranging this pleasant surprise :-).

One of the December issue of Widja Broderie, my line of evening clutch collections. This month I’m inclined to peacock motifs, as you can see in the collections. What is currently brewing for January issue will be completely different. Please do stay tuned :-).

Today I’m finally brave enough to post about Widja Broderie, the project which I’ve been busy with lately. It’s a collection of hand embroidered purses, created by my mom and I. I put my heart and lots of efforts into it. As each purse is hand embroidered, it means that each item is a unique piece of art. There won’t be any 2 pieces which are exactly alike. Please drop by here to see the current collections.

inFrom distance, I watched how this man rode his horse. Living in Jakarta, it’s quite unusual to see people ride western. So for me personally, it was quite a show.
Later on as we chatted, I found out that this very lively Australian guy, whose first job when he was young was to break horses, now makes saddles as a hobby! Beautiful saddles with intricate design. I wish I can see his collections and take pictures of all.
