Having a jeweler as a friend (or is it having a friend as a jeweler?) has a lot of advantages. One being, you’ve got opportunities to have sneak peak and early purchase of her latest designs, before they are in the market. Here’s one of her designs.

Today I’m finally brave enough to post about Widja Broderie, the project which I’ve been busy with lately. It’s a collection of hand embroidered purses, created by my mom and I. I put my heart and lots of efforts into it. As each purse is hand embroidered, it means that each item is a unique piece of art. There won’t be any 2 pieces which are exactly alike. Please drop by here to see the current collections.

I have been wanting to have Hamsa for a long, long time. It is also known as the hand of Fatima, or hand of Mary, or hand of Miriam. This palm-shaped amulet is known as a sign of protection in many societies throughout history. It is believed to provide protection against the evil eye.
I just love the beautiful shape. Whether it really protects you against bad intention, I think it goes back to what you believe in.
I thank my friend from Amedes who is finally able to source one for me 🙂
