Taken from the plane not long after taking off while I was flying back from a short weekend get away. I love these colorful out of focus lights, which look like hundreds boomerangs flying around in the sky.

Shot with Canon 50D, Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L, shot in M @ 2, f/4, focal length 58mm, ISO 1000

The sun has completely set at 6pm. Light around and in the pool are automatically switched on. The swimmers glide swiftly, yet gracefully towards the light, as if prompting me to click my shutter.

I owe them from new year’s eve. There were just too many kids (and adults) playing fire sparklers in the resort we were in on that particular night. Oh, and we were too busy drinking, chatting n watching the real fireworks. So last night we had our own fire sparkler night, just before bed time.

There’s something magical about fire sparklers. They bring back memories of childhood. We used to bend the end of the metal stick as a hook. My brothers used to throw them high to trees, hoping that they will get stuck between branches and leaves. While us girls playing it safe by hanging it one by one on lower tree branches, or running around with it, pretending to be angels with magical wands.

I hope my kids will keep this memory too, for years to come…
