A childhood toy which I found during the recent fun fair. I just had to buy it to let my kids experience it. I have to admit that the older version was much more versatile. We could blow the balloon bigger and we could bounce it around like normal air balloon.

This newer version is so fragile, my kids got frustrated after a while. Not being able to play it around is another downside. But the worst part is the strong smell, which give you headache in a short time 😦

Boys and guns. No matter how hard you try to separate them, it seems the invisible line is hard to break. If you don’t buy the toy gun, they will get it as present, or built the model out of paper, lego and what not.

My Mother taught me how to make these simple puppets out of rambutans. I still remember making them with my mom, drawing various facial expressions to represent characters.

And this time, it’s my turn to teach my son. He chose “rambutan” as his subject for “Indonesian Week” project at school and these puppets are just perfect to complement his chosen subject.

I dislike those flimsy plastic toys. The quality is generally very poor, it will be broken in no time. But sometimes those free toys you get from airline can serve their purpose, particularly during the waiting / delay time. Anything which can entertain kids is good enough for me.

Miniature

Miniature of Eiffel Tower

Currently the kids love building 3D puzzles. Their weekly allowance is directed towards building up their collections. It’s inexpensive, but at the same time you get the quality of what you pay for, right? There’s no way they could build these by themselves without my help.

After playing jenga the normal way, the kids love to combine it with other building blocks and build their own version of skyscraper.

Little people

Sparkling clean little people

Kids are finally back to school after the long christmas holiday and it’s time for me to sanitize the toys in their playroom. These 7.5 cm height little people are always the one I start with.

I seriously have nothing against mixing all the series together while they are playing. I love watching them taking the pirate ship out, fighting against the policemen in viking boats, while the treasure seekers are rummaging the knights’ palace, watched by some agents from future planet who are having picnic with the explorers next to a caravan. The narration which goes with it is hilarious and entertaining. It’s surreal to follow their wild imagination.

But, they tend to mix match their accessories too. The policemen start to have beards from pirates, while vikings are wearing the divers’ helmets. That irritates me loads! So after they are back to school, it’s time for me to open the manuals and start to ‘dress’ them up accordingly, while at the same time wiping them off with disinfectant. Yes, it makes me feel better 🙂
